to get smooth and fair skin is the most commonly asked
question, especially amongst youth. The skin reveals
a lot about the health and hygiene of a person. It can
be referred as the covering of our body, which can be
compared to the wrapper of a gift. The more attractive
the wrapper, the more nice the gift seems. Just like
that, the clearer and smoother the skin, the more beautiful
the person appears. Thus, it is very important to pay
attention towards it. Getting a clear skin just requires
a bit of effort and minor changes in your daily routine
to induce that glow.
Retouching skin is rarely an easy task. There are no
absolutes when it comes to making skin look the ‘right’
color, smoothing out wrinkles, or reducing blemishes
and blotchiness. This tip will take you through one
popular technique for smoothing skin texture for a younger,
smoother look.
Sea salt removes dry, flaky, dead skin
Wet face (or anywhere on the body), apply a couple of
tablespoons of sea salt, then gently massage with a
wet washcloth or fingers. Focus on the T-zone and cheeks,
but avoid the eye area. After one or two minutes, rinse
with cold water to tighten the pores. It is important
to do this regularly, or face-creams will not penetrate.
You can do this maximum once per week for the best effect.
Fruity
Lip Gloss
1 Tablespoon solid shortening,
1 Table spoon fruit-flavored powdered drink mix,
35 mm film container.
Mix shortening & drink mix together in a microwave
safe bowl till smooth! Place in microwave on high for
30 seconds until mix becomes a liquid! Pour into clean
film container, or any other small airtight container!
Place mix into fridge for 20-30 minutes or till firm!
Dark Circles Under Eyes...
One of the most common ailments and I can say ailment
as this is one definite stressful look that we all wear.
Especially if we are working moms! Here are some tips
to get rid of these zombie-like effects under our eyes!
Wrap a grated raw potato in cheesecloth and apply to
eyelids for 15-20 minutes. Wipe off the residue and
apply an eye cream.
Carrot Facial Mask

Ingredients Needed:
*2-3 large carrots
*4 1/2 tablespoons honey
Directions:
Cook carrots, then mash. Mix with honey. Apply gently
to the skin, wait 10 minutes. Rinse off with cool water.

Natural Beauty Recipes For Smooth Skin
There are score of Grandma’s recipes for natural beauty
to be the most happening face in town, and although
there may be many more of these, this is but one attempt
to enlist the most important one in an article!
*1 tbsp honey
*1 tbsp mashed papaya
*Mix and put on face for 20 minutes then rinse off.
Honey Facial Mask
Perhaps the best facial mask known to man is the pure
and simple honey. Place a cloth in warm water and apply
to your face to open the pores. Smear on honey, and
leave on for 15 to 30 minutes. Rinse off with warm water,
then use cold water to close the pores. Use once a week.
Orange Yogurt Mask
Ingredients Needed:
* 1 tsp plain yogurt (I chose Balkan Style)
* The juice of 1/4 of an orange
Stir to mix and then dip fingers into mixture and smooth
onto face. The sensation is both cool and relaxing.
Leave on for a five minutes and then rinse. If you are
feeling sluggish, this is the perfect mask for you.
* Yogurt will cleanse and nourish your skin
* The orange is full of Vitamin C and AHA's
Skin Sauna
A good deep cleansing treat is to give your face a sauna.
This is especially good for congested skin. You need
to fill a bowl with near boiling water and add four
drops of each of the essential oils recommended for
your skin type.
NORMAL: Mandarin and Lavender.
OILY: Lemon and Eucalyptus.
DRY: Rose and Camomile.
Place a towel over your head and hold it over the bowl
from a distance of about 30cm for a period of around
two minutes. This opens the pores and prepares it for
a face mask. You should not use a face sauna if you
have sensitive skin, are pregnant or suffer from asthma.

Green Thompson seedless grapes! It has one of the ingredients
in those big time expensive wrinkle creams. All you
do is cut a grape in half and gently crush it on your
face and neck. Make sure that you get the "crows-feet"
and the lines around your mouth. Leave it on for twenty
minutes or so and rinse with tepid water and pat dry.
Repeat every day and before you know it... those nasty
old lines will be hard to find! Don't forget to drink
at least 8 glasses of water daily. And... eat veggies
rich in Vitamin A, such as carrots, celery and spinach.
If you can, try and get at least 8 hours of sleep every
night.
Home Remedies for Glowing Skin & Smooth
Skin
You can transform your dry skin into a super smooth,
soft, supple, and glowing skin by using these home remedies.
- Mash a banana with milk and apply on face and leave
it for 20 minutes. Wash it with cold water to get
a skin that will glow.
- Apply honey on your face and neck for 20 minutes.
Wash it with cold water. Your skin will glow and become
soft and smooth.
- Mix egg white with honey and apply on the face for
20 minutes. Wash it with cold water.
- Make a paste of one teaspoon of walnut powder, honey
and lemon juice. Scrub your face with this paste and
leave it for 20 minutes. Wash it with cold water.
- Rub a piece of papaya on your face and neck for
15 minutes.
- Make a paste by mixing 2 tablespoon turmeric (haldi)
powder in orange juice. Scrub it on your face and
neck and leave it for 20 minutes. Wash it with cold
water.
- Make a paste by mixing mashed banana, honey, lemon
juice and margarine. Apply on face for overnight.
Smear on hands and feet, and wash off in the morning
(wear gloves in hands and socks in feet).

Boil cabbage in water. Wash your face with this water.
Powder mango peels and mixes 1-teaspoon milk powder
and rub on face, neck, and hands. Wash it off after
15 minutes.
Mix one cup of sugar with 1 tablespoon fresh lemon /
lime juice. While taking bath, lather your body and
face heavily with a soft soap like Dove. Scrub the whole
body and face with the sugar mixture on the lather.
After a shower apply Vaseline over your entire body.
Shower again after one hour. Repeat twice a month.
Mix corn (polenta) flour with egg white and apply on
your face. When your face is dried completely in about
1/2 an hour, put your fingers in warm water and massage
your face. Repeat daily for 10-15 days.
Soft and smooth hands for life
Mix 3 teaspoons of baby oil and 2 teaspoons of sugar
together. Rub your hands, feet or any part and leave
it on for 10-15 minutes. Rinse it off with warm water.
Tips to Take Care for Smooth Skin:
- Make sure you wash your pillowcase at least once
a week. Dirty pillowcases breed bacteria, which can
lead to pimples.
- Do not venture in areas with heavy, greasy air such
as restaurant or fast food kitchens and even subway
tunnels.
- Drink at least one and half liters of water everyday
as it keeps your skin hydrated and healthy.
- Indulge in any sweat inducing activity for at least
30 minutes a day, such as running, dancing, sports,
aerobics, etc. Sweating unclogs your pores and enhances
your complexion.
- Change sweaty clothes as soon as possible, drying
off your body with a clean towel.
- Wash your face twice a day, ideally once in the
morning and once at night. Use a mild cleanser, which
is gentle on your acne and skin in general.
- If your skin is oily, consider adding a toner to
your routine. However, avoid astringents as they can
actually make your skin worse.
- Moisturize your skin daily by oil-free moisturizer,
formulated specially for the face. Avoid heavy and
thick creams.
- Exfoliate your skin once a week for normal skin
and 2-3 times a week for oily skin. This will reduce
black heads, thereby refreshing it.
- Apply a relaxing mask once a week to give skin extra
vitality.
- Use standard cosmetics, which suit your skin. While
applying foundation, use a clean applicator or your
fingers to blend it.
- Make sure you remove your make up and apply a night
cream while going to bed in the night. This will enable
your skin to breathe.
The drink of life: Add more water to your life:
- You know you should, but do you do it? Drink at
least 15 glasses of water a day
- Mix the fruit juice of your choice with mineral
water for a healthy soda.
- Is there a waterfall you can get under, or a brook
to swim in? Don’t pass up the opportunity. Great for
blood circulation.
- Sinking into a bathtub has a tranquilizing effect
on the mind. Throw in mineral salts if you can.
- Use water as mouth freshener along with a sprig
of mint, honey and lime.
- Make a compress for dry, flaky, irritated skin using
water. Use gauze dipped in tolerably cold water. Apply
on affected area and leave on for 10 minutes. Instant
relief.
- Sebastian Keipp, who wrote My Water Cure, recommends
using water as a healing power to cure disease. "Walk
barefoot on grass or immerse your legs in cold water
up to the knees. This increases resistance to illness."
- With water, remember, more is always better.
