'Fool's Gold' finds DVD treasure Warner adventure comedy outpaces all sellers

Warner Home Video's "Fool's Gold" topped the national home video sales and rental charts in the week ending June 22, besting two other new theatrical releases that also arrived in stores last week.

With boxoffice receipts of $70.2 million and a cast that includes Matthew McConaughey, Kate Hudson and Donald Sutherland, the adventure film "Gold" handily nabbed the No. 1 position on the Nielsen VideoScan First Alert sales chart.

Universal's "Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins," a comedy starring Martin Lawrence that generated $42.2 million in theaters, debuted at No. 2.

The third spot on First Alert went to Warner's "The Bucket List," last week's top seller.

"Gold" also topped Home Media Magazine's video rental chart for the week, with Fox's "Jumper" remaining at No. 2 for the second consecutive week.

"Bucket List" slipped from No. 1 the previous week to No. 3. "Roscoe Jenkins" debuted at No. 4 on the rental chart but still managed to generate a not-too-shabby 80% as much activity in rental stores as "Gold."

"Be Kind Rewind," a New Line comedy starring Jack Black and Mos Def that earned $11 million at the boxoffice, debuted at No. 7 on the sales chart and at No. 6 on the rental chart. "Jumper" was the No. 1 Blu-ray Disc seller for the week, narrowly outpacing "Gold." "Bucket List" was No. 3.

Lance & Kate's Romantic Getaway

Last week it was New York City. Then on Sunday the couple was seen canoodling on a West L.A. tennis court.Now, E! News has learned, peripatetic lovebirds Kate Hudson and Lance Armstrong have taken their cross-country romance to Santa Barbara county.

Ludson (Lan-Kat?) was spotted having dinner at Lucky's steakhouse in Montecito late Monday night looking as smitten and laid back as ever...

Wearing a white, beachy cover-up over a bikini and no makeup, Hudson drank a martini and draped herself over Lance, who was equally casual in camouflage shorts, black T-shirt and black sneakers.

According to a source, they shared a table with an older couple and spent the night "laughing and talking," with Kate chatting about her family. "She's so comfortable with him," says the eyewitness. "They're so cute together."

A source tells E! News the couple is staying at the ritzy San Ysidro Ranch in Montecito. How ritzy? Rates go up to $6,000 a night. But can you really put a price on (celebrity) love?

Kate on Lance: "Let People Speculate"

Kate Hudson's four-year-old son is obsessed with her breasts.

The 'Fool's Gold' actress revealed Ryder - her son with ex-husband Chris Robinson - has developed a keen interest in the female body and is always trying to lift up her top.

She told US talk show host Conan O'Brien: "I'm working on getting him off being interested in female parts. He thinks it's hilarious when he pulls off my shirt. He's four years old!"

Kate also admits she has trouble convincing Ryder to cut his long flowing locks as he wants to look like his rocker dad Chris.

She said: "I have managed to give him a haircut, it's just incremental!"

Meanwhile, Kate has yet again refused to comment on her relationship with cycling star Lance Armstrong.

When asked about the alleged romance, Kate said: "Yeah, I try not to talk about my personal life. I think somebody told me he was going to be on this show next week. You should ask him if we're dating."

The blonde beauty - who recently split from lover Owen Wilson - recently said she is happy for people to "speculate" about the relationship, but insisted she will never discuss details of her private life.

She said: "I don't discuss my personal life. It's better to let people speculate as much as they want to speculate. Opening up only causes more problems and more words taken out of context. Everything is always misconstrued."

Biography

Kate Garry Hudson was born April 19, 1979, in Los Angeles, California. The golden-locked dimpled beauty is the daughter of Oscar winning and lovable actress Goldie Hawn, and singer comedian Bill Hudson, of The Hudson Brothers Razzle Dazzle Show fame.

A couple of months after Kate's birth, Bill and Goldie divorced, and the estranged father has been out of his two children's (Kate and older brother Oliver) lives ever since. In 1983, Goldie met actor Kurt Russell, who has lived with the family for the past 18 years, and is considered by Kate to be her "Pa."

Taking after her mother's passion, Kate wanted to act since she was a young girl. But despite her strong desire for drama, her parents originally wanted her to take another career path.

The progeny finally got her first taste in front of the camera as a stand-in for the 7-year-old actress playing Goldie's daughter in the 1986 film, Wildcats.

Kate has another Crowe to thank in her life: her husband Chris Robinson, lead singer of the Black Crowes. The lovebirds were married on New Year's Eve of 2000 in Aspen and had their first child, Ryder Russell Robinson, on January 7, 2004.
