The upcoming James Bond movie ‘Quantum of Solace’ will hit the Indian theatres a week before its US release.

Indian movie buffs may be indifferent to whether the Bond likes his martinis shaken or stirred, but they do enjoy watching the suave Agent 007 in action against the baddies. That’s why the last Bond movie, ‘Casino Royale’, turned out to be a money-spinner at the Indian box-office.

Perhaps taking a cue from that, Sony Pictures Releasing India has reportedly taken the unprecedented decision to release the next Bond movie ‘Quantum of Solace’ in India on November 7, a week before the film’s release in North America on November 14.

The film will have it’s UK release on October 31.

Kercy Daruwalla, managing director of Sony Pictures Releasing India, is quoted as saying that James Bond has a huge fan following in India and that is why ‘Quantum of Solace’ will be released with about 700 prints dubbed into regional languages Hindi, Tamil and Telugu, apart from its original language English.

Starring Daniel Craig as the agent 007 for the second time, the movie is a sequel to ‘Casino Royale’ and has been directed by Marc Forster. In the film, Bond avenges the death of Vesper Lynd and battles Dominic Greene, a member of the Quantum organization.

The film has been shot in Panama, Chile, Italy and Austria.

James Bond was born on Nov. 16th 1924, he was the son of Andrew Bond and Monique Delacroix Bond. In 1936 James Bond’s parents died in a climbing accident in the Aiguilles Rouge Mountains. After that incident Miss Charmian Bond started to take care of her nephew James Bond. At the age of 12 James completed his education at an English public school. At the age of 13 James Bond enters an English school by the name of Eton. Soon after Bond was emitted to Eton he got into an alleged fair with a maid and was expelled. Shortly after Bond was expelled he went to a military school near Edinburgh where his father once went to school.

In 1941 James Bond entered WWII after claiming to be 19 years of age. Bond was in WWII from 1941-1945. Bond then joined MI6, and he received the rank of commander and gained his licence to kill and his famous number 007 in 1950 after completing two assassinations at Casino Royle. Even though Bond has a licence to kill in the line of duty he is still a little bit squeamish about doing so. He seldomly kills in cold blood, he’ll only kill in cold blood if he’s ordered to do so. In all of the James Bond novels he certainly enjoyed being in the company of the finest women, driving the finest cars, and smoking the finest cigarettes. .

Commander James Bond is a secret agent for the British Secret Service, otherwise known as MI6. Also known by his code number 007, Bond is a spy of the highest order in the MI6 ranks, granted a license to kill and trained in all manner of subterfuge, intelligence gathering, and combat techniques. Description and personal life
In the novels (notably From Russia with Love), Bond's physical description has generally been consistent: slim build; a three-inch, vertical scar on his right cheek (absent from the film version); blue-grey eyes; a "cruel" mouth; short, black hair, a comma of which falls on his forehead (greying at the temples in Gardner's novels); and (after Casino Royale) the faint scar of the Russian cyrillic letter "Ш" (SH) (for Shpion: "Spy") on the back of one of his hands (carved by a SMERSH agent). In From Russia with Love he is also described as 183 centimeters (6 feet) in height and 76 kilograms (167 lbs.) in weight..

In all media, Bond is portrayed as highly intelligent, and in the films is something of a "know-it-all." In Goldfinger, he calculates in his head how many trucks it takes to transport all the gold in Fort Knox, and how long the gold would be radioactive after Auric Goldfinger's bomb had exploded. Also, in Casino Royale, he is shown to have skill at calculating probabilities of draws from a deck in a Texas hold'em tournament in Montenegro. Bond's "genius" became a running joke during Moore's era. It was virtually eliminated during Dalton's tenure as 007..

When not on assignment or at headquarters Bond spends his time at his flat off the Kings Road in Chelsea. His flat, as well as himself, is looked after by an elderly Scottish housekeeper named May, who is very loyal and often motherly to him. According to Higson's Young Bond series, May previously worked for Bond's aunt, Charmian. Bond hardly ever brings women back to his home, happening only once between the novels Diamonds Are Forever and From Russia with Love when he briefly lived with Tiffany Case; and once in the film series: in Live and Let Die, M and Moneypenny visit Bond at his flat, forcing him to hide his female company in the wardrobe. According to Pearson's book and hinted at in From Russia with Love, Tiffany often got into arguments with May and eventually left. At his home, Bond has two telephones. One for personal use and a second red phone that is a direct line between his home and headquarters; the latter is said to always be ringing at inopportune moments.

Tracy di Vicenzo and James Bond from On Her Majesty's Secret ServiceIn both the literary and cinematic versions of On Her Majesty's Secret Service, James Bond marries, but his bride, Teresa "Tracy" di Vicenzo, is killed on their wedding day by his archenemy, Ernst Stavro Blofeld; the loss resonates in both versions of the character for many years thereafter. In the novels, Bond gets revenge in the following novel, You Only Live Twice when, by chance, he comes across Blofeld in Japan, while the cinematic Bond takes on Blofeld in Diamonds Are Forever with an ambiguous result. Later, in the pre-title sequence of For Your Eyes Only, Bond despatches a bald, wheelchair-bound man who bears a startling resemblance to Blofeld, shortly after viewing his wife's grave (the character was not named for legal reasons connected with EON Productions' ongoing dispute with Kevin McClory over the film rights to the novel Thunderball).

Bond had one child by Kissy Suzuki in You Only Live Twice, although he never learns of the boy's existence in Fleming's novels. In Pearson's book, the son is named Rudolf-Mihkel Benno. Bond is obviously aware of his son's existence by the time of Raymond Benson's short story "Blast From the Past" in which his son asks him to come to New York City as a matter of urgency before being killed by Irma Bunt. The story's canonical status is often disputed since it appears to exist outside the timeline of all continuation novels, including Benson's own.
